How does WriteText.ai sync with my Shopify store?

Tags: Shopify, sync, Shopify integration, App Embed

WriteText.ai syncs with Shopify through the Shopify API, allowing you to read product and collection data, generate optimized content, and publish it back to your store.

What WriteText.ai reads from Shopify

When you open a product or collection in WriteText.ai, it pulls the relevant data from Shopify through the API. This includes product details and collection information that WriteText.ai uses as inputs during content generation

What WriteText.ai writes back to Shopify

Once content is generated, you can transfer it to your Shopify store. Depending on your setup, this can include product descriptions, meta titles, meta descriptions, Open Graph text, image alt text, and collection descriptions.

You can transfer content manually for individual products or collections, or use bulk transfer to apply updates across multiple items at once.

Manual sync vs. full automation

By default, content is transferred when you choose to do so. If you want WriteText.ai to handle this automatically, you can set up full automation with scheduling. This lets new or updated content be pushed to your Shopify store at a time you specify, without manual intervention each time.

App Embed requirement

The WriteText.ai App Embed must be enabled in your Shopify theme for Open Graph text and certain display features to work correctly. Here is what to expect depending on whether it is active:
  • App Embed enabled — Open Graph text and display features transfer and appear on your storefront as expected.
  • App Embed disabled — Open Graph text will not appear on your live store pages, even if the content has been transferred. Other display features that depend on the App Embed will also not render on the front end.
The content is saved in WriteText.ai regardless, but the App Embed must be active in your Shopify theme for it to display on your storefront.
