Do I need to enable App Embed for all features?

No, App Embed is not required for all features. Most of WriteText.ai works without it. However, two things specifically depend on it: Open Graph text transfer to your Shopify store, and the full functionality of the Chrome extension.

What App Embed does

The WriteText.ai App Embed is a setting you enable inside your Shopify theme. It allows WriteText.ai to communicate directly with your storefront so that certain types of generated content can be applied to your live pages.

Without it enabled, WriteText.ai can still generate content, and most outputs — product descriptions, meta titles, meta descriptions, image alt text — will transfer to your store normally.

What stops working without App Embed

  • Open Graph text — Generated Open Graph text will not be applied to your store unless App Embed is enabled. The content is generated, but it cannot be transferred or displayed without this connection in place.
  • Chrome extension — The Chrome extension can be used without App Embed, but enabling it unlocks its full capabilities. Some extension features depend on the App Embed being active.

How to enable App Embed

  1. Go to your Shopify admin.
  2. Navigate to Online Store > Themes.
  3. Click Edit theme on your current theme.
  4. Open the App embeds section (usually in the left sidebar or theme settings panel).
  5. Toggle on the WriteText.ai App Embed.
  6. Save your theme.
If you are not on Shopify, App Embed does not apply. Open Graph text behavior on WooCommerce and Magento follows those platforms' own configuration.
