How do templates and brand voice work together
Templates and brand voice settings work together in WriteText.ai to ensure that every piece of generated content follows the same structure, tone, and style, regardless of which platform it is published to or how many products are in your catalog.
Templates define the structure and formatting of your content. Brand voice defines how that content is written. When both are configured, WriteText.ai applies them automatically during generation, so the output is consistent without requiring manual adjustments per product.
How do templates keep content consistent?
A template in WriteText.ai specifies the sections that appear in your generated content, the order they follow, and how each section is formatted. Every product generated using that template produces output that follows the same structure.
Structure and section order
Each template defines the layout of your content once. A template for a fashion accessory store might open with a short introduction followed by materials and sizing details, while a template for a consumer electronics store might lead with a features section and technical specifications. Each template defines that structure once, and every product generated with it follows the same layout.
Custom instructions and prompts
Templates also carry special instructions and custom prompts that guide tone, messaging, and emphasis at the section level. These instructions apply to every product that uses the template, which means you can define once how a particular section should be written and rely on it holding across your entire catalog.
Supported content fields
WriteText.ai supports templates for short descriptions, long descriptions, meta titles, and category descriptions.
- On WooCommerce and Magento, you can assign different templates per field.
- On Shopify, a single product description template applies to the available description field.
Webshop assignment
Templates are linked to specific webshops in the platform. Once linked, they become selectable in the plugin during generation. You can assign multiple templates to one store to handle different product categories with different content requirements.

How brand voice keeps content consistent
Brand voice is a separate layer that controls the writing style applied across all generated content. Once WriteText.ai's brand voice setting is configured and selected, it overrides the individual tone, style, and audience settings that would otherwise apply. This makes it the most direct way to ensure the voice of your generated content matches your brand across all products and platforms.
Building a brand voice
You can build a brand voice in two ways:
- Build from product content — Select 5 to 15 products from your connected webshop that best represent your brand's writing style. WriteText.ai analyzes their titles, descriptions, and other available text to learn your tone and style. You can choose from your synced webshop products, upload additional products using a CSV file, or retrieve newly added products from your connected store.
- Build from brand documents — Upload a PDF containing high-quality examples of your brand's writing, such as brand guidelines, marketing materials, website content, or articles. WriteText.ai analyzes the entire document to extract your tone and writing style. For best results, the document should contain at least 500 words.
Once created, a brand voice can be linked to multiple webshops at the same time. If you manage several stores, regional storefronts, or multilingual markets under one account, the same brand voice applies to all of them without requiring any duplicate setup.
To apply a brand voice during generation, open the plugin in your store's backend, select "brand voice" in place of the default tone, style, and audience settings, and choose the brand voice you want to use. WriteText.ai then uses it as the writing reference for every piece of content generated from that point.
Managing multiple brand voices
You can create and manage multiple brand voices from the platform dashboard, each with its own name, language, and webshop assignment. This is useful if you manage separate brands or product lines that require different writing styles.
